Pencil Poem

I see my drawings as poetry: human figures, flowers, trees or undefined objects merge and flow together to create a mood or tell a little story. Shapes are often only hinted at, leaving much to the viewer’s imagination.

My medium is simple: plain white paper and pencil. The play between white paper and gray pencil gives elegance and structure to my work.

Women, children, and nature embody and symbolize the mystery of the continuity of life, the passing of time and the inevitability of death. The attempt to represent this is the essence of my work. I try to capture time in its boundless essence and yet reflect the transitory nature of life through the caducity of my medium.
